Is
Wi-Fi Connectivity secure?

It's been argued that a Wi-Fi network is easier to hack. However, hacking a Wi-Fi network requires that the potential hacker be within the range of the Wi-Fi antenna. So unless the hacker is within a close proximity to your location, he can not use the Wi-Fi connection as his method of entry.

If we were located in downtown Manhattan, this would be more of a concern than North Eastern Ohio.

While we take every reasonable precaution to protect our networks, in reality our location is one of the best protections that we have.

All NDTC processed email is encrypted and secured.

Personal Protection

Regardless of the type of connectivity that you use, as soon as you access the Internet you are vulnerable to information theft, hacking, and virus infection.

While we wish that this were not true, its a fact of life.

It is your responsibility to protect yourself. Just as you would lock your car doors when you park at a local store, you need to safeguard your computer and your personal information using methods such as virus protection software and personal firewalls..

Some common sense tips:

NEVER include credit card information in an email
NEVER open an email attachment from someone that you do not know
NEVER load a software disk on your computer without first running virus scanning software.

If you need help in understanding how to protect yourself, call us and we will be happy to explain your options.
